I hate the sun
I hate the stars
I hate that we can’t live on mars
I hate that fear holds us back
I hate it when we attack
I hate it when we don’t have fun
I hate the man who invented the gun
I hate the war that fills the nation
I hate that no one has any patients
But what I hate most of all
Is that hate fills us all
There's a quirkiness about your Mars line that is rather fun - and the general thrust of this poem is great, particularly the last couplet. Incidentally - I think you mean 'patience' in line nine. Also, if you want to write traditional (rhyming) poetry, it's important to learn about scansion (the rhythm of the piece) . There's a really good book called The Ode Less Traveled by Stephen Fry you might like to check out. It's highly amusing, but also filled with very useful information for any budding poet. You are obviously filled with ideas for poetry writing, Janay. I look forward to reading more. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
