I Have A Best Friend, No More Poem by Randy McClave

I Have A Best Friend, No More

Rating: 5.0

I had a best friend this week
But, I have him no more,
A false truth he did foolishly seek
A COVID mask he then never wore.
He said that it was all just a big lie
As was told to him by the politicians,
To not wear a mask, I know not why
Though he was told to wear one by physician's.
So, my friend never wore a COVID mask
And he never practiced social distancing,
Even though many to him did ask
When he went out shopping, and also visiting.
A mask he proudly never did wear
Neither did his supporting wife or their kids,
I thought for their health and safety he would care
But, common sense and reality many forbids.
A parent truly is their child's teacher
That is how a child grows, imitates and learns,
If they don't learn right they will soon visit the preacher
And they say that the Devil always gets his returns.
Not wearing a mask my friend screamed was his right
Every-time that he left his front door,
He died of the Covid virus late last night
I have a best friend, no more.
