I Have Emptied All My Thoughts Poem by K J

I Have Emptied All My Thoughts

I have emptied all my thoughts
Time now to take stock of my life
of how long years have been wasted
In silent conversation with myself
And the streets that I once trampled upon
have all but forgotten me
The women I once loved have all been
reduced to mere memories
In their bodies perhaps once harbored my love
But now only a discarded image waiting
to be discarded yet again from their brains
The ideals I once fought for
and I yearned for better than the best
when the most beautiful was but only the
gate to the garden of beauties
the goodness that I loved
when on a starry night
I would marvel at life's pure magic
but the moon forgot
how I looked like
and how I gazed at her all night long
the long years have passed
now, I wonder if all these matter
but once I begin to wonder if it does matter
it ceases to
and time to stop now
I have emptied all my thoughts
