-i Have Loved- Poem by Maylene Galang

-i Have Loved-

I have loved for a thousand times, faithful and true.
The beauty of love never discouraged nor weakened my heart.
Love kept me alive and sustained my spirit with hope and dreams;
Never scared to fail, uneasy to surrender, unafraid to make mistakes;
For the love that’s in my heart was great, beautiful, and powerful.

I have loved with honesty—pure and sincere.
With my whole heart, mind, and soul—I have loved dearly.
Happiness elated my heart, gladness overwhelmed my spirit.
Sacrifices were made, efforts were exerted;
To keep the love that captured, bound, and ruled the heart.

I have loved with a great love that was beyond measure.
Unfathomable, infinite, boundless, and without end;
Couldn’t be subdued, defeated, nor threatened;
For the love that I have had was enormous and magnificent;
Its power and endurance conquered all fear and doubtfulness.

I have loved unselfishly and unconditionally.
Showing affection and kindness, caring with passion and tenderness;
With ardor and trust, I have pledged my fidelity and commitment.
Cheerfully fulfilling the allegiance of devotion and the oath of love;
Promises were made sacred, divine, and unwavering.

Love made me smile and laugh, giggle and chuckle.
Love bestowed me joy and pleasure, ease and comfort.
Love afforded me to wish and yearn, hope and dream.
Love gave me faith and confidence, strength and fortitude.
Love—the magic that consummated all beauty, grace, and perfection.
