I Have To Move On Poem by Daya Nandan

I Have To Move On

You have broken my heart so many times,
Behind my back, so many crimes,
And despite all that i stood there to love,
In hopes to change you, praying to god above,

And i held your hand despite all the pain,
Only to have you scorch me and hurt me again,
Despite all the bruises, every gash and burn,
Despite all my effort you can never learn,

The value of love born from a single heart,
That you shattered in bits, you tore me apart,
And despite all that i still miss you so much,
The warm memories we once had, your tender touch,

But enough is enough, there is only so much i can take
I deserve so much better than a daily heart ache,
I realize now there is so much more to life,
I have given up the idea of making you my wife,

I am leaving you because of those actions i cannot forgive,
Hopefully i will find someone who appreciates the love i give,
i am leaving this relationship, i have to move on,
By the time you read this, i would have already been gone.
