I Hear Your Voice* Poem by Gert Strydom

I Hear Your Voice*

(to Annelize, who were mine on Valentine's day)

I hear your voice with every breath,
every sound bears to me great meaning,
it's so intimate as if you are right here,
in your own words I do find joy.

You tell me about your heartache and happiness
and it's as if life-long I do miss you.
With your life I have more that empathy,
in the things that work well and those that do not,

how you view yourself and life,
where I remember you and know you for years,
of every aspect of your humanity I do know.
You are the one that I can trust to my hearts depth.
When I loose you do believe that I am going to win;
I cannot forget your being, your spirit and soul.
