I Hope You Will Be Pleased With It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

I Hope You Will Be Pleased With It

I have so much love for you...
I'd like to see it squeezed,
From your eyes.
Choking you to death in disbelief!

'Hey...
I thought you said,
You were writing me a 'love' poem! '

I am!
I'm just trying to find a way,
To smother you with it!
A way in which...
You will never question me about it,
Again!

'Honey...
You're not upset,
That I spent the last of our savings.'

Of course not!
Don't be foolish.
You were testing my love.
And I understand that.

Ssshhh...
I'm almost finished.
I hope you will be pleased with it.
I can't wait to see the expression on your face.
