I immersed in Time's ocean,
To the bottom I sank in a moment.
The music played and carried me there,
Back to eternity's beginning—
To times with my Lord,
My origin and originator.
We would sit and listen,
Resting in silence, absorbed.
"Am I not your Lord? "—
Such music filled the air,
Wonderful, eternal music.
This morning,
the ancient song played again,
Resounding within me,
And within all creation.
In that moment,
I was there with the Divine,
Clad in the cloaks of manifestation,
Sitting and listening once more.
The eternal song played on,
A song of creation,
A song of Man's coronation.
I was absorbed in its melody,
Together with the Divine—
As on the Day of Alast.
Sitting in silence, listening deeply,
To the echo of 'alastu bi-rabbikum? '
On A'raf: 'Am I not your Lord? '
As the song played, I replied:
"Yes, my Lord, You are the Truth."
