I Just Wanna Die Poem by Ramona Thompson

I Just Wanna Die

A very dark rewrite of Mariah Carrey's I Don't Wanna Cry

Once again I sit in denial
After all that could be said and done is done
Only emptiness inside me
Doc, tell me please this isn't what I've become
I can get a thousand different second opinions
But my diagnosis still won't change
It isn't right to stay alive in front of my family and friends
When I only bring them pain
As my time grows ever shorter tonight

Chorus

I just wanna die
Just wanna die
Nothing in the world
Can save me now or take me back
To the healthy way I used to be
Through I've given this fight all of my heart and soul
I must find a way to make my loved ones let me go
'Cause honestly, I just wanna die

Too far gone to keep going the distance of living anymore
Yet still they won't let me go
They keep hangin' on and on and on to me
Pretending not to know my final wishes
Denying that sooner rather then later I'll be gone
Every moment we're together
It's just breaking me down
I know I swore to them I would always be around
Forever
But this just hurts too much to stay around

I just wanna die
Just wanna die
Nothing in the world
Can save me now or take me back
To the healthy way I used to be
Through I've given this fight all of my heart and soul
I must find a way to make my loved ones let me go
'Cause honestly, I just wanna die

All the fights gone
Gone out of me
I'm just the shadow of a memory
Something's wrong
We can't go on make-believing

I just wanna die
Just wanna die
Nothing in the world
Can save me now or take me back
To the healthy way I used to be
Through I've given this fight all of my heart and soul
I must find a way to make my loved ones let me go
'Cause honestly, I just wanna die
