I Just Want To Listen To The Song Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Just Want To Listen To The Song

I just want to listen to the song—
To hear it play all day and night;
Why does it touch with a deep healing grace,
Even though I bear no scars of separation?

I say, "Wow, just keep singing this way, "
Knowing it's real, not just in dreams.
Let me feel divine presence in melody,
For it is more than medicine to my soul and heart.

My God, keep singing this heavenly tune;
Let me lose myself completely in You.
"Oh, oh, " I say, "don't pause even for a breath—
Let my heart dissolve in your sweet voice."

Now, I see my gnosis growing fast,
Yet, in the end, my gnosis touches You.
I can no longer bear these veils of illusion—
Let me forget all obstructing walls.

Let me hear You through the song's symphony;
What's more poetic than composing this eternal hymn?
