I Light Candles On Your Grave - Poem by Jolanta Gradowicz
I light candles on your grave and try to recall your face.
And only my black and white recollections appear -
The old pictures from our family album. They found place
In my mind, and now I’m pondering, and my thoughts are clear.
I blot out the memory of all the bygone dark days.
They went out like the light of the candles on your grave.
I’m not certain if you believed in God, but I pray for His grace.
I hope He let you rest in peace, absolved your sins, and forgave...
