I'll Determine What's Ridiculous Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

I'll Determine What's Ridiculous

Listen to me.
Carefully.
From this day forward,
I will override any decision made...
Done without my consent to approve.
I want that understood.
If there are questions,
Please speak up now.
Or I promise you,
Nothing you recommend, suggest later...
Will be ignored.
Yes? Your question?

"I know this may sound ridiculous."

I'll determine what's ridiculous.
Nothing to me is ridiculous.
Except those socks you are wearing.
I can not believe you actually chose those.
Did you do that alone?

"Uh...
Yes. I did."

And you expect me to think you're competent?
Never mind that.
Go ahead with your question.
The time you all waste on foolish nonsense.
Go ahead.

"But none of us,
As far as I know...
Can remember you listening to our suggestions.
Recommendations or accepting decisions we've made."

Look at you.
You can't even dress yourself.
And you expect me to accept your thought process?
None of you are dressed appropriately for this meeting.

"You told us,
Appearance will be casual."

There you go.
Assuming my simple and direct comment made.
I said,
Appearance will be casual.
MY appearance.
Not yours.
How can anyone be that stupid,
To misunderstand what I meant to say but didn't?
