And the neighbours just stood by
Watching me being dragged as I cried
Now not a single spineless soul
Comes forward to say
That they did see it all
Oh yes..I LOVE My INDIA
Im sorry hear this, i am hoping it has some other meaning. But it appears not.
This is how Indians are. Women are raped, children abused, women suffer from domestic vIolence....and the onlookers just have fun. Who will get involved for it's not their family. Even the best of friends pretend that they do t even recognise you
'I Love My India' becomes a cliche every now and then. There is no sympathy or compassion left for a fellow Indian- a girl, a boy, an aged person who gets tortured or brutalised by goons or anti-social elements. TV reports are replete with such incidents. People are more interested to make a video recording rather than to offer any help on the spot. This is a powerful commentary on our society. The poem goes into MyPoemList. Thanks.
Sad truth..... we all look at the pain and misery but no one wants to get involved. this is the truth in india and elsewhere too. you have pictured a plain truth. so sad as it isssssssss. thank you. tony
This is a very poignant poem. So much sadness in this truth, yet conveyed with strong conviction. Well done.
Thanks Ms Nathan and. Mr I her. Completely agree with your comments. Appreciate you reading my poem
None has the mental strength to protest, to stand beside a person in problem. This happens in my life too. This is our country and these are our countrymen.A nice poem.

the muscle power, political power terrorize people to such an extent. In closed door gatherings every one talk tough. when confronted with reality all will vanish!
