I'm Just Tired Poem by Kiley Elizabeth

I'm Just Tired

They ask if I'm all right
As tears blur my sight
I'm just tired I reply
They turn away before they see me cry
And alone I no longer pretend to be happy
And when people talk I get snappy
Then apologize and say I'm just tired
When really I am empty inside
But I throw back my head and laugh at a joke
And respond with one of my own
Because if I don't people ask, "are you ok"
And I'm just tired is all that I will say
Because my mind and heart fight
So no I'm not all right
But I put on a brave face
Even when I am in a sad place
And I'm tired it's true
Just not the kind of tired that sleep can subdue
