I'M Not One Without Taint Poem by Francis Duggan

I'M Not One Without Taint

What goes around comes around some known to say
And for my sins the price I will have to pay
And if for someone you do a good turn today
For that you will be rewarded in some other way
I cannot say I've ever met a living saint
And as for myself I'm not one without taint
And some I have known have flattered to deceive
But what we do unto others in return we receive
That actions speak louder than words does seem to be true
And we receive from life perhaps what is our due
'Tis not your way of life but how well you do live
And before you receive you must know how to give
And the size of your house and the size of your car
Does not say to me of the person you are.
