I Promise Poem by Rachel Brewer

We were never on the same road,
You and me.
We kept missing each other.
Every time we got close something got in the way,
In the way of our love.
If only we could have met under different circumstances,
Maybe things would have been different?
Don’t you think?
We could have had a life together,
A home, a family, a love.
And I think that day will come,
I really believe we were meant to be together,
As one, forever.
We will meet, I assure you.
In this life or the next, we were meant for each other,
So our love will shine through,
We’ll make it.
I promise.
