I cannot promise you beautiful days
And I cannot promise you plenty,
I cannot promise you beautiful bouquets
And I cannot promise you that my wallet won't be empty.
I wish that I could promise to you it all
And I wish every dream you could keep and hold,
And I wish that you would never cry or fall
I wish that I could give you silver and gold.
I wish that we would never argue or fight
And I wish that you would never get angry or mad,
I wish our past we would not want to rewrite
And I wish for you to never be sad.
I cannot promise you that I will not age
I cannot promise that I won't put on a pound or two,
And I cannot promise that their won't be rage
But, I can promise that I will always love you.
