I Shall Not Live In Vain Poem by Sumaya Aijaz Wani

I Shall Not Live In Vain

If I can touch a soul
lost within the rain,
then all my days upon this earth
Shall not be in vain.

If I can light a little hope
inside a heart of pain,
and turn it's endless darkness bright,
I shall not live in vain.

If I can bring one a gentle smile
to eyes drowned deep in tears,
or calm a lonely, trembling heart
haunted by silent fears,
I shall not live in vain.

If I can be a tiny flower
blooming in barren land,
or be the warmth a weary soul
finds within my hand,
I shall not live jn vain

If I can heal a wounded child
with kindness soft and true,
and make them believe the world still holds
a little love shining through
I shall not live in vain.

And if my words can touch one heart
across the storm and pain,
then every breath that I have lived
Shall not be lived in vain.
