Think Twice Poem by Sumaya Aijaz Wani

Think Twice

Before calling someone 'mine'-
know they can turn to wine.
Before writing a single line,
know it may become your sign.
Before shedding a drop of tear,
know it might hurt someone near.
Before saying, 'I am done',
know it could be the start of one.
Before making someone's fun,
know the heat of sun knows none.
Before saying, ' I am great',
know not all strengths are innate.
Before speaking behind a back,
know it shows what you truly lack.
Before aiming at a lake,
know rivers don't retrace their wake.
Before leaving loved ones in hail,
know laws of nature never fail.
Before uttering a single boast,
know it can wound more than most.
Before touching a mirror with hand,
know music can happen without band.
Words and thoughts - so sharp, so grand-
can heal or hurt, like grains of sand
