I started the message
a thousand times
Deleting it with a sigh
was our love a lie?

I started the message
wanting a sign
the night you held me close
did you have another on your mind?

I started the message
wanting to see
If your gaze
was looking right through me

I started the message
hoping you would say
that you were not
walking away

I started the message
and then hit delete
turned off the computer
and rose to my feet

I walked away
and didn't look back
at the computer screen
that was now black!
