Look at the banyan tree:
when I was born
I was like a tender leaf
nascent, gentle and bursting into greenness
I grew:
with the passage of time
nourished by
the air and soil
the sun and moon
the rain-bearing clouds
the sky watching me all the time
now I am in the middle
new leaves born above me
and old leaves below me
I am not alone!
my colour might have turned yellow
but still I am alive
growing! !
why should I lament
for the tender past
or the old future! ! !
I am still in the tree of life
blessed by the Almighty.
A very nice poem preaching the value of living in the present. It is a green poem in my eye. Thanks dear poet for sharing such nice a poem. Subhas
