I Stood There, Silent Poem by Alex Grove

I Stood There, Silent

I stood there, silent
Witnessing the murder of my culture
Obscurity embraced me
I've never felt pain
I've never tried love
But a flash of light
Enlightened my universe,
Lucidity surrounded me
The heart of a poet must suffer.
The mind of a poet has no end.
