I Stopped Thinking Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Stopped Thinking

Rating: 5.0

I rushed to wash basin
To wash of face that had turned
Dry with sun light
It was giving me no delight

But to my utter reaction
I found another man in action
One was standing before
Another was seen in mirror

Oh, so ugly and clumsy
How come such figure was blessed by almighty?
May be some mistake on His part?
Chain of thoughts made little start

But some of the features were like me
“Some wrinkles on face” I thought to flee
How can it be me when once upon?
I had all good features to be won

I had no time to observe closely
Hectic activity and heavy schedule was already
On card and taking heavy toll
I had to hurry and respond to call

Such type of work and speed had brought changes
It had effect of growing age too
But it was certainly not me in mirror
Why mirror was not showing me favor?

“You accept the change” it is you only
Wife tapped me on shoulder heavily
“Do not bother about earthly things”
You have lot more in store to bring

I felt comfortable
Oh, there was no trouble
World was same as before
I stopped thinking therefore
