Matt Cha

I Thought I Saw Her - Poem by Matt Cha

I thought i saw her
Standing at the pier
I thought i saw her
And my heart filled with fear

With the wind in her hair and wearing the dress that she'd sewn
Though how could it be her?
Im a long way from home

We cast off the mooring lines
And i took one final glance
Could it really be her
Has fate given me a chance?

But alas i was too late
For we were underway
And as we sailed out the heads i whispered
My God i wish i'd have stayed
