I Thought You Were The One Poem by Hannah Roberts

I Thought You Were The One

Rating: 5.0

I thought you were the one for me
I thought you were the man
but now i see that i was wrong
while here along i stand

in the rain i'm so confused
all i can do is think about you
i said that i loved you
and i mean it still
i wish that i could let you know just how i really feel

everytime you turn from me
i feel as though i'll die
going after other girls
than staying by my side

i wish that i could tell you
how i really feel
but i guess i'm just like you
i'm a spinning wheel

i truly honestly love you
and i kow i'll keep my word
though sometimes it may seem
that i am so absurd

please choose me to be the one
you come to when you cry
i'll be there
i'll hold your hand
can't you see
please understand

my love for you will always last
but make a move
and make it fast

if you don't i'll cry at last
thinking about joyful memories
that we shared in the past

i won't hold you back
you can get on with you life
even if we only talk
when we're in a strife

but i'll be smart
and walk away
so i guess i'll say goodbye today
