I Tread Gently Along The Shoreline Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Tread Gently Along The Shoreline

I tread gently along the shoreline,
eyes fixed upon the boundless sea,
pleading with waves to carry me away.
I envy the free who swim and dive,
yearning to plunge into infinite depths.

Yet, the ocean is fathomless, unknowable—
and still, it offers solace.
I dive into the depths of my soul—
the true ocean whispers its eternal truth:
no drop is ever separate from the sea.
