I Unlearned My Old Beliefs And Faiths Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Unlearned My Old Beliefs And Faiths

I unlearned my old beliefs and faiths;
Imitated not others as a whirling dervish...
...imitates Rumi dance;
Mimicked not saints, sages, and scholars;
Melted not like an avalanche by the satanic fire;
Wore not saffron dress of sadhu and Bhikshu;
Wore not the white scented dress of molvi and sufi.

Ran madly after knowing the truth of myself...
... and the mysteries of the creation;
As if Time were there terribly running out...
....whispering to me a final warning:
'Hurry, before you will be dead, my dear'
What?
Before you reach the morning of next life?
The end of the present journeying is clear.

I woke up and on the feet of my eyes...
...walked into the walled city of myself;
Here I stood still in silence to be present...
...in the garden of peace in sobriety...
...in my true self;
I felt myself in presence of my true self...
...that I had lost due to my unconsciousness;
My shadowless being speaking to me...
...in Wordless voice:
Fear not, Fear not, you are in the valley of Tuwa!
