I'Ve Had My Cake
I’ve had my cake and eaten it,
and do not want another piece,
I’ve had defeat and beaten it,
and do not ask for more release,
I’ve had my life and lived it well,
and though there are some moments I
regret the thought of what befell
does not now make me feel awry,
because there’ll always be more cake,
and from defeat comes strength to be
a person who does not forsake,
abandon, or forget or flee.
