I've Walked The Halls Poem by Gary James Smith

I've Walked The Halls

Rating: 5.0

I've Walked The Halls

I've walked the halls of loneliness
And found the corridors bleak
Nothing to cheer the heart in such
Continuing week after week
A loneliness felt like none other
With a heart separated from God
No light in that place was ever found
Until the window of His Word

The prayer I prayed in the corridor
Was inspired by the Spirit
Who knew the brokenness of my heart
And knew the way to cheer it
Divinely lead now in my way
Unknown was my destination
But sure enough by the Spirit's leading
I came to know Salvation

The corridors walls became much brighter
All my loneliness was gone
A brighter future now lay ahead
And in my heart there was a song
Hallelujah was an utterance learned
It came from a heart of joy
I knew I found the pearl of great price
Prized possession of Heaven's alloy

Now I never walk alone
I have a Friend beside me
Who has promised me in His Word
That he will always guide me
I've tasted and seen that He is good
I've found in Him graced favour
Never to walk again alone
For the Lord Jesus is my Saviour!

Hallelujah...what a Saviour!
