I Walk To You, You Walk With Me Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Walk To You, You Walk With Me

I walk to you, You walk with me,
I wait for you, You wait with me.
I watch you, You watch me.
I listen to you, You listen to me.

I believe your soft whispers,
You believe my heart's ears.
I see your manifestations,
You see through my eyes.
I look for you within and without,
You are in my day, and my night,
You are in my dreams, and nightmares.

I tread paths, known and unknown,
You are my way, my walking, my destination.
We walk together, talk together, sit together,
Though in physical form, not.
I laugh and cry, and then murmur to myself—
What is this 'We'? What is this 'you and me'?
Delusion! Illusion! Ignorance! Unawareness!
You only sing and scream! Whisper, and speak!
You sing in beautiful notes! Radiant in your light!

There is no reality, no truth, but you!
You scribble, you draw your paintings!
Proud of what you write and draw.
You are my peace, my love, my joy!
You are my beauty! my secret hidden!
You are my inspirer, my inspiration!
The only source of my life, you are!

I am your loyal, dedicated, faithful servant.
You are my master, you protect me,
You help me, keep me safe in each ordeal.
You are the only one, creator, and originator!
My song, my light; my pain and joy you are!
You are the clouds, the thunder, the lightning!
Rain and storm, the rising and setting sun!
You are, you will be, as you were always.
I am nothing, only your marionette—
You alone pull my strings!
