I Want To Go Home Poem by Barry Jablonski

I Want To Go Home

I want to go back home again
Back to my bright city lights
I had so much fun livin’ there
I miss those wild party nights

I've been away so very long
That my city just ain't the same
My friends are too old to party
Oh when did we get so lame?

I want to go back home again
But time has passed me by
All the things I loved are gone
So I’ll say my final goodbye

You can never go home again
No matter how hard you try
The living are always changing
And your memories tend to lie

Good poem with a strong finish. But now that everyone seems to be digitally recording every minute of their lives there will soon be a generation of folks who CAN go home- -anytime they want.
