I whispered to no one I could see,
Is There a true love meant for me.

And the trees murmured her name,
And the clouds showed me her face.
And the seas roared on untamed,
And the winds her spirit praised.

I whispered from a mountain high,
And far below the desert sky.

And the very rocks cried out to me,
In glorious voices I could hear.
Her name in a joyful symphony,
And I saw her face in my mind so clear.

And when at last to me she came,
I knew her well, her face and name.

The trees and rocks sang once again,
The clouds painted her face up high.
The wind whispered to me refrains,
But the seas still roared under God's skies.
