I Will Never Die Poem by Randy McClave

I Will Never Die

I don't need to wear my seatbelt
Because I'm never going to be in a wreck,
I always obey the laws of the road
And from a car accident I'll never break my neck.
So, a seatbelt you'll never see me wear,
And I don't care if people in disbelief stare.

I don't need to wear a life jacket
Because my boat will never ever sink,
And also because I can float and swim
So, I'll never drown in the drink.
That law is not meant for people like me,
As I am the captain of the mighty sea.

I don't need to ever see a doctor
I never got sick and I never get ill,
And when I get a fever or if I get a cough
I usual then take a small pill.
I am born with a natural immunity,
So, I can't get sick in any event or community.

I don't need to ever wear an orange vest
Whenever I go out to hunt,
All hunters know the sounds of wild animals
They know their howl, their growl and even their grunt.
So, when I'm out in the woods carrying my rifle,
I'm dressed in camouflage, no other hunters will trifle.

I don't need to have a parachute
Whenever I'm a passenger on an airplane,
I also don't need a life preserver
Fear or stupidity does not ever run in my vein.
The plane that I am a passenger on will never crash,
Just throw my life jacket and life preserver in the trash.

I don't need now to find salvation
I might look for it in another year or another day,
Tomorrow or maybe next month I'll look for Jesus
And maybe then I will begin to pray.
I have decades to search and then to asked why,
Because, tomorrow I'm not going to die.
