I Wish I Had The Art Of Conversation

Rating: 4.0

I wish I had the art of conversation

I wish I had the art of conversation
I wish I could join in
But, I just sit there with a stupid looking grin
I get tongue tied and don't know what to say
The words get stuck, somehow
Ifeel stupid and daft, I have no confidence at all
It does not get any better I'm a real horrible bore
I really hate myself and when I'm on my own
I just sit down and cry, when I'm all alone.

Please don't feel sorry for me
But, if you can help in anyway
Tell me the art of conversation
How not to get tongue tied
To remember the words and what to say.

If there were a magic pill
to help me feel, just right
I would take the whole bottle
Because I'm feeling really bad tonight.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Is conversation an art?
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Yes, conversation is an art. You can improve upon the skill of conversation by practising. Someone told me that ex US President Bill Clinton used to consciously try and improve his conversational art and oratory skills even after becoming the US President. So, it's never too late.
