I wake up every morning,
And see the day through,
For I work hard.
I press the alarm clock,
And go into the shower,
Knowing I have,
A full day's work ahead,
But I feel little stress or dread.
I answer all my emails,
Being overlooked by my boss,
Who doesn't understand females,
I make my colleagues a cup of tea,
And secretly wish,
I was in front of the TV,
But I am hard at work,
I take no trash from anyone,
Working hard, from sun-to-sun.
I do the food shopping,
At the start of Saturday,
And I cook dinner,
Every night, after work.
I travel everywhere,
To meet all my friends,
And tell them about my job,
A job I will not lose,
And I do face hardships,
But with no tears or bruise,
And I wake with the sun,
Sleep with the moon,
Knowing another day will come soon,
Where I shall do it all again,
With determination and positivity,
For working hard takes guts and grace,
And makes the world go around.
