I Would Share Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

I Would Share

I would share,
The possibility to be dared.
By someone.
Caring to admit they too,
Wished truth actually existed.
And sought to seek,
If it was just a myth or not.

With it together,
Choosing to explore our curiosities.
Beyond limits imposed.
To actually on our journey find truth.
And if,
Without having known of it before.
Would we despise it?
Or deny the effectiveness of its use.
Knowing more about lieing and its comfort.

Yet...
Kept between us this promise made.
If truth to discover is all that and more,
We would discard lieing...
As a self inflicted bad habit,
From us to rid forevermore.

Oh!
The torment, anguish and pain.
Seems an impossible quest.
A challenge.
A test.
Although remains to face the fear of it.
Until truth no longer threatens to hear.
Or be near it when its heard.

I would,
Share the possibility to be dared.
By someone admitting they too cared,
To know...
If truth actually existed.
And sought with our lives to risk,
Together.
If truth is...
Or not,
Just a myth.
