I Write Andwrite These Small Poems Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Write Andwrite These Small Poems

Rating: 5.0

I write and write these small poems
But what do they mean?
After all the years
The silence tells me
Of my own small worth
As a writer
It is possible to live with this
To know one's own insignificance
There are so many other lights in life
So much beauty
So much caring and love
I am not what I hoped to be
And tried all my adult life to be
But in my old age
This insignificance
Is not what I fear most.

I am not what I hoped to be And tried all my life to be... And the poem ends beautifully. As another old man, I can easily connect to it.

The silence tells many things and even small poems motivate mind. We learn many things from failure and try to lead ahead. This poem is excellently penned.10
