Idealand - Poem by Douglas Scotney

There always was a me
Then ideals came along
Said the past is gone
You're now a part of me.

I said the past is not as strong
But in me still lives on
I'm not a part of Idealand
Idealand's a part of me.

you're my ideal of how a man should be
synonyms: perfection, paragon, epitome, shining example, ne plus ultra, nonpareil, dream
no woman could be the ideal he imagined for himself
a standard of perfection; a principle to be aimed at.

YOU, the reader, decide which definition to use! !

at first i read Idealand as Idea land, but i guess i was wrong, except as ideals may be ideas.

    favorite lines:

I'm not a part of Idealand
    Idealand's a part of me.......................but, do i hear: me, Me, ME! ! !

    me too.
