If I Call You Poem by DICKSON MSETI

If I Call You

It is summer time in my heart,
I need cold water as it is hot,
If I call you
Will you turn me blue?

I see the wind blowing so high,
I am so light I can fly,
If I call you
Will you take me in you?

I feel tired and old,
I feel sad and bold,
If I call you,
Will you make me new?

I feel cold in my heart,
Shaking my all body parts,
If I call you,
Will you hold me tight?

Am afraid and terrified,
I feel small and hopeless,
If I call you,
Will you give me hope?

I feel lost and lonely,
No life and no love
If I call you
Will you pick up the phone?
Will you love me?

The uncertainty of wanting and wishing, for someone to be there, when you reach out....The sadness of having to question if, indeed, love remains, comes through with a great intensity. Your simple words carry much weight. Well done. And thank you for sharing. PEACE
