If I Could Be Anything Poem by Holly Jamestone

If I Could Be Anything

If I could be anything but who and what I am right now
I would be lying in my husband’s arms
Feeling content and safe and hopeful and
Wondering about what we are going to do next

I would feel thankful that I am married and committed
To just one man for the rest of my life
To weather all storms together and rejoice in our love
And solidify our friendship for when lust wanes

If I could be anything but who and what I am right now
I would be anything but who and what I am right now
