If I Were A Mother Poem by Walterrean Salley

If I Were A Mother

Rating: 5.0

If I were a mother,
I'd want to be like you
So loving, kind, patient
And understanding too...
I'd want to hug my little ones,
Cradle them in my arms,
Tell them words of comfort
And shelter them from harm.
I'd want to help them learn
And teach them all I can—
And when they are in need,
I'd want to lend a hand.
I'd simply want to be there
To love and see them through.
Oh, if I were a mother,
I'd want to be like you.
