If Jesus would come back today
His followers wouldn't know him in any way,
His skin would be darker than theirs
And his looks alone wouldn't be an answer to their prayers.
He'd be helping the needy and the poor
As he did and preached about many times before,
And he would give immigrants an helping hand
As he did when he sent Mosses and his disciple's to a different land.
His followers wouldn't recognize him
To another they would spiritually praise and sing a hymn,
And if he stood and spoke against greed
Not many would believe or take heed.
Many would call him a dangerous, radical socialist
At him they would throw rocks and shake their fist,
They would call all of his truths socialism and a sin
Then they would rush to crucify him again.
