If Lincoln Knew Poem by Randy McClave

If Abraham Lincoln was here today
I wonder what he would do or say,
Seeing what the republicans have became
Upon him and his party they have brought shame.
Everything that he believed and that he stood for
The Republican's have tossed it out the door,
Lies, rumors and greed is now their main tool
They've returned to the wealthy and white rule.
From the party of Lincoln they all did jump
They became the party of trump,
The Republican Party was founded to oppose the 'Slave Power"
Now pro-business party is their flower.
The Republican Party becomes the party of the rich North
Racism and bigotry they have brought forth,
Lincoln signed an amendment, which freed the blacks
Now at the African Americans are Republican attacks.
Republicans are known as the notorious right wing
To the retired and the middle class suffering they will bring,
While they will blame all the problems on someone else
It's always has been themself.
Lincoln wasn't ever for a small government
He knew how care and help for others should be helped and spent,
He was pro development and pro union and technology
Pro self-improvement, without an apology.
The Republican leadership isn't how it once was
Now the wealthy and the greedy will get their applause,
So, I wonder if Lincoln knew now where the republicans were at
I wonder if he would had become a Democrat.
