If There Is One Single God Poem by Hebert Logerie

If There Is One Single God

If there is One Single God
Why are we quarreling?
Why are we fighting?
Why are we killing the other side?
Why are we committing suicide?

If there is one flag
The flag of peace
And love. At least
Why can't we be civil?
Why must we be hostile?

In this quagmire
We hate each other
We offend the Almighty God
We lie to ourselves and to the Lord
We raise the flag of hate shamelessly
And then we all end up in the cemetery.

Human beings have plenty to learn
We need to take it easy and yearn
For peace and for the blessings of the Almighty
The shadow of hope is fading away
Despair and disgust keep on coming our way
We need to repent and pray for a better destiny.

If there is One Single God
Why can't we understand?
Why can't we comprehend?
Why can't we stand for the same thing
Instead of destroying ourselves and fighting?

We've told that there is one Heaven
And nobody wants to end up in hell
Why can't we honestly ring the bell
Of peace and turn into a perfect haven
Mother Earth in the name of the Lord?
