If We Be Gods Poem by Sara Militello

If We Be Gods

Rating: 5.0

If We Be Gods

If we be Gods which through the minds of separate Men
have become the gods standing shoulder to shoulder
with the God which created the universe of the living-

That Being of all that is, sprung from the milky soup of stars
when clearly, we're no more than a teeming naivete' pining
and whining for rescue from the bitter wine of our own supine.

If we be Gods it's time to bow our heads in shame
hopefully, not for all eternity...

Another thought provoking poem with a satirical touch and deep insight on the subject confession. We are mortals, we have weaknesses and our body demands things beyond its wants and needs. You nailed it with this poem, thanks for sharing..10++++
