I'm Not Coming Back There Soon Ever Again Poem by Mark Heathcote

I'm Not Coming Back There Soon Ever Again

Why is my heart crying now, I hope it isn't too late.
To visit Paris in the spring, and live to believe
I can change my destiny; it can't be contrived.
The Seine moves northeasterly, nothing to emulate.
Loving you, I can't climb the Eiffel Tower anymore.
I'm not coming back here any day soon.
I'm too afraid I might seal my fate and fall.
The Louvre's grandeur, and its effervescent perfume.
It's now near beneath me overall.

I'm an angel in the rain once more, once again.
I sense the romance and the pain.
And the boulevards of heartache taking centre stage.
The Avenue Des Champs-Élysées, sunset walks
Sadly, they aren't for me darling, anymore.
My heart has been broken like never before.
Once again, I'm an angel in the rain once more.
I sense the romance and the pain.
I'm not coming back there soon ever again.
