(In response to Abdelhaq Djellab's painting 'Constantine, ' posted May 13,2024)
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
A living landscape is also a timescape...
particularized movement resolves into distant tranquility...
The air is an encompassing lens for all wavelengths...
pouring liquid vibrancy into the eye...
The sky is a caravan of clouds setting forth at morning...
the streets and doorways are teeming with stories...
The renderer gathers them into a tremulous atmosphere...
He rises above the metaphor of an anthill...
a vigorous climb earns a metaphysical vantage point.

I would like to translate this poem
I have also had an interest in the quality of air in painting by some artists, especially Michaelangelo, painters of light, and some of the Japanese painters with their perception of capturing light colours reflecting off leaves on trees in differing atmospheric conditions.
I wrote the poem 'Painting Air Light Energized Qualities', inspired by a comment I had made on the poem 'In A Lens Of Air', by the poet Denis Mair and dedicated to Denis Mair.
