The Sea Incarnadined Poem by Denis Mair

The Sea Incarnadined

Rating: 4.6

I see a pilgrimage route through the red-dust realm
a sunset over the sphere of desire turning murky;
a lake of fire choking in metabolic by-products;
the vituperative sludge of late petroleum;
Stravinsky's Firebird beslimed in a tar pit;
shades in the settling lagoon at a nuclear waste site;
the pride of iron undone by weak acid and salt;
the end stage of a marsh that was a natural kidney;
O passion that could not cleanse itself;
O world full of slaughtered enchantments,
even now groping towards infernal re-enchantment!

A great poem inspired by David Mann's painting....'the pride of iron undone by weak acid and salt; the end stage of a marsh that was a natural kidney; O passion that could not cleanse itself; '

O passion that could not cleanse itself; O world full of slaughtered enchantments, always groping towards infernal re-enchantment! Nice, influencing and pure poetry.

P2 to stretch toward an infinity of possibilities unbothered by metabolic nuclear waste sludge as firebird is birth born unblemished from choking lake of fire

I wrote the poems 'In Sea Incarnadined: Eternity Stretches Toward Infinity' and 'Chopper Motorcycles Ridden Into Surrealism', inspired by the poem 'The Sea Incarnadined', by the poet Denis Mair and dedicated to Denis Mair.

P1 in the world of imaginative approaching exploring a Sea Incarnadined in pinkish flesh out beyond red-dust realm where pride of iron undone by weak acid and salt etched time; eternity is free
