In A Moment Of Peaceful Reflection Poem by Francis Duggan

In A Moment Of Peaceful Reflection

Rating: 5.0

In a moment of peaceful reflection I listen to the mynas call
And gaze on the beautiful pink wallflowers that bloom by the red brick garden wall
I feel so at peace with the World on this bright and sunny Winter's day
The magpie on the blackwood is fluting in his cloak of black and light gray,
Such moments we all live to cherish just a fleeting escape from care
In our Worlds of stress polluted by noise such beautiful moments are rare
If I could live like this for my life span how marvellous my life would be
But I am a vulnerable person and stress it keeps getting to me,
A little girl on the boardwalk to her mother's coat she does cling
A sense of security it gives to her vulnerability is an age free thing
With her mum near she feels that much safer and much more at ease and free
At the threat of harm from others the dangers she perceives and see,
Though still a child to us adults she's no different she needs her moments free of care
And as for me I feel happier with Nature alone in the clear morning air.
