In Dire Need Of Clarification Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

In Dire Need Of Clarification

Is it a confessed belief,
People perceive impresses others...
When they mention God?
Or is it...
A creation they have made,
They have hopes one day is accepted...
As the best impressions,
That will keep their perceptions...
Of being highly favored and chosen,
To represent a perfection of God's intentions.
Either way...
There is something in the communication,
In dire need of clarification.
Since deception and truth are in total disagreement.

I always liked what Voltaire said we treat God as a pasha or a Sultan, who is capable of being exasperated and appeased. I know mentioning Voltaire probably makes me look pretentious in, but I think it rings true to what I am reading hear. Dont go for the literal definition of a sky daddy but the ideal of God as being a state of eternal good, if you want to belief that even exists.
